**Courier insurance – a quick guide for new start-ups!**
Unlike most other types of insurance that cater for one specific risk, a courier insurance package can include many different types of cover.
When looking for a courier insurance policy you will need to consider the following as a minimum;
- courier vehicle insurance – very much the same as your car insurance policy but for courier vehicles!
- ALL RISKS goods in transit cover – protects you if the goods you deliver become lost, damaged or stolen
- public & employers liability – covers legal fees and compensation if a member of the public or an employee is injured due to you carrying out your services
What many new start-ups don’t realise is that courier insurance policies can vary greatly from one to the next.
Of course there is the size and type of vehicle to consider but the policy you require will also be determined by the goods you deliver, driving history of staff, the area you cover and much much more!
Therefore being confident that you have selected the right cover may not be as straightforward as you might think, particularly if you are new to the industry.
That’s why, Insure Courier always recommend that you visit a specialist broker when shopping for any type of courier insurance.
We welcome new start-ups and can normally transfer no claims discount built up on a private car insurance policy and/or offer new start-up discount. Freephone 0333 202 3172 or click here to request a call back.
